Description

Element Energy is seeking a vice president (VP) with substantial industry experience to join our engineering and technology teams in commercial web-based services available on managed cloud infrastructure for large-scale IOT fleet of Lithium-ion batteries. This person will be responsible for optimized deployment & operations of Cloud infrastructure at scale for Element Energy’s CLB products connected fleetwide over the internet. His/Her roles will include managing a large number of CLB systems, new subscriptions, big IOT data, scaling up/down Cloud resources, traffic arbitration, information & data security, cost minimization, leading contractors/consultant, etc. This position requires day-to-day co-working with software engineers in data engineering & machine learning / deep learning where frequent, on-demand new feature/function deployments occur as part of regular business operations. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about and experienced in building an integrated software platform of applications and services for next-generation battery management. You’ll be involved in the complete software development life cycle from product/system concept through to services for customers.

Credentials                                                                                                                                                                          

  • MS or higher degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering
  • 15+ years of track records in managing commercial cloud services for IOT in renewable energy or battery industries
  • 15+ years of track records of successful operation of cloud with high RAM (reliability, availability, maintainability) scores aligned with business goals and objectives
  • 10+ years of experience in building commercial cloud-based services for large-size IOT data and fleet
  • 10+ years of experience in security, scalability, traffic load management for commercial cloud/web
  • 10+ years of experience in hands-on development of full stack of cloud/web services
  • 5+ years of experience in collaboration with R&D that develops AI-driven software products as essential part of the commercial cloud services
  • 5+ years of experience in managing customer feedback and user experience on cloud/web-based services
  • Mature managerial experience in managing, evaluating and collaborating with consultants and contractors for Cloud/web development
  • Strong professional network that can reach out to best organizations for consultancy and contractors
  • Industry certifications preferred such as professional Cloud/Data engineering or similar

Responsibilities

  • Fleetwide CLB battery asset monitoring and control via Cloud computing infrastructure
  • Development of features and functions for commercial Cloud that incorporates predictive/prescriptive O&M
  • Automated subscription management toward new CLB products and end of life products
  • Big IOT data management with respect to size, spontaneous query, traffic, lifecycle, etc.
  • Automated scale-up or -down of computing infrastructure for optimized cost
  • Guaranteeing maximum availability of services with no unscheduled downtime or loss of access
  • Guaranteeing constant security on data and information of CLB assets under management
  • Management, evaluation and appraisal of contractors/consultants in Cloud services
  • Development & evaluation of performance metrics toward deployed services
  • Regular internal & external evaluation of functionality, performance, cost, etc.
  • Participating in regular cross-functional collaboration with software engineering teams
  • Troubleshoot and rapid response to software & systems related issues, especially from the field

Preferred Skills

  • Competency of designing optimized architecture for commercial cloud/web services
  • Competency of developing business-centric performance metrics for commercial cloud/web services
  • Competency in managing and evaluating contractors and service providers by applying objective performance criteria
  • High literacy in cloud services, features and functions of aws, Azure and GCP
  • High literacy in front-end and back-end programming languages, HTML, CSS, javascript, PHP, java, etc. for web and app operation environments
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication
