Description

Element Energy is seeking a Battery Data Analyst to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for the processing of battery data, design and implementation of formulas, metrics, and visualization in a variety of forms toward analytics of descriptive, exploratory, predictive and prescriptive purposes by using data provided to you by other members of our team. Responsibilities will include a variety of design and implementation of metrics, formulae and their representation using statistical and graphical software tools, including visualization. This is a unique opportunity for someone who is passionate about and experienced in building analytics software framework that can help drive our battery research and algorithm development.

Credentials                                                                                                                                                                          

  • BS or MS in Engineering with a focus on statistical data analysis or data modeling + 3 years of experience in the job offered or closely related occupation
  • PhD in Engineering with a focus on statistical data analysis or data modeling +1 years of experience in the job offered or closely related occupation

Responsibilities

  • Develop metrics and formulae of analytics for purposes of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses
  • Develop metrics and formulae of analytics for purposes of descriptive, predictive, and prescriptive analyses
  • Develop visualization and software tools for analytics of battery data
  • Continuous and automated battery data pipelining for highly available analytics
  • Analyze raw and processed data and prepare report on findings
  • Participating in regular cross-functional collaboration with battery and software engineering teams

Preferred Skills

  • 3+ years of interdisciplinary domain knowledge and experience in battery science, data modeling, and statistical analysis
  • Expert Python programming skill and Experience with object oriented programming
  • High proficiency in data science software: pandas, numpy, scipy, tensorflow, etc
  • Hands-on programming/scripting skills in data visualization tools: Grafana, kibana, influxdb, etc
  • Experience working collaboratively with version control using Git
  • Experience with time series analysis, multivariate models, hypothesis testing, A/B testing, inferential statistics, and causal analysis
  • Willingness to proactively contribute to data analysis, make insightful findings, and generate reports working in fast-paced team
